Watch Classic World Series of Poker* Moments Hand Picked by us!

As you may well have guessed by now we are all WSOP* nuts here, and what would a roundup of all things World Series of Poker* be without some classic plays shown here, using the magic of streaming video and the original TV clips!!

We'll be adding more videos in the weeks to come, but for now we are looking at two classic moments where Stu "The Kid" Ungar won the Main Event. For those of you that don't know about Stu, check the videos below!

Classic Poker Main Event Moments 1

Watch the final moments of Stu "the Kid" Ungar winning his last Main Event bracelet back in '97.

What this video doesn't let you know is that Stu Ungar is undoubtadly one of the greatest tournament poker players that ever played in Poker's big tournament- winning the main event in 1980,81 & 97 - before his untimely demise brought on by years of drug abuse.

If you read poker books we recommend that you pick up a copy of Nollan Dalla's biography of Stu, it makes fascinating reading!

Amazingly, Stu came to poker as a second game after simply destroying every pro GinRummy player that used to frequent the US professional gambling circuits!

Classic Poker World Series Moments 2

The final moments of the 1981 Main Event with Stu Ungar winning his second back to back championship, a feat that only Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson have ever achieved.

As the video is only the last hand it is diffucult to judge just how dominant "the Kid" really was, but to get an idea you just need to look at how much younger he is than the rest of his competitors.

In the same way as people wonder whether the 70's Brazillian Soccer squad would have beaten todays top international teams, it would be interesting to see if Stuey could dominate the game as he did then, today - its a question that will never be answered fully, but if I had him at my table I would certainly avoid any confrontations!
